Portia Vaginal Pessary Rings - 62mm - For Urinary Incontinence in Women - Free of Oestrogen Generating Phthalates - Latex Free
A vaginal pessary ring is a vinyl ring device that is inserted into the vagina to support its internal structure.
It is used in women to help deal with urinary incontinence caused by the vagina or another organ in the pelvis slipping out of place
The rings themselves are available without prescription but would be installed by your GP in the surgery who will also tell you which size to order.
Phthalates are widely used in the manufacture of some brands of Vaginal Ring Pessaries as a softener.
However, there are concerns about ring pessaries that contain Phthalates as they remain within the body for up to 6 months at a time and as the Phthalates break down, they release oestrogens in the body.
This is particularly relevant to women who have had oestrogen-dependant cancers where it is not appropriate to introduce additional oestrogen into the body.
The pessary rings we supply do NOT contain Phthalates
